Haiyang city covers a large area and the underground mineral
resources come in many kinds with large reserves. More
than 40 kinds of proved mineral resources are of exploiting
value, such as iron, lead, copper, gold, crystal, asbestos,
molybdnum, talcum, marble, granite and so on. The granite's
reserve is 1.25 billion cubic meters, marble's 37 million
tons, gold's 60 tons, sulfur's 350,000 tons, lead's 1000
tons, zinc's 1000 tons, graphite's 500,000 tons and talcum's
500,000 tons. There is 70 million tons of sand for building
use and 65 million tons of tiles and clay. There is a
great potential for gold, marble, granite, sand and stones
in Haiyang. The proved reserves can meet the exploitation
in near future. The minerals are of high quality and the
orebodies of good conditions. Besides these, the hydrological
geology and engineering geology are simple, and the technical
conditions for exploitation are good, so they are suitable
for major exploitation.
