| One thousand li fairy island |
1,000-li rock is also named 1,000-li
island or 1,000-li hill. Lying in the south of the Yellow Sea
(36¡ã15¡ä57¡åN and 121¡ã23¡ä09¡åS ), the island is made up with two
hills and the shape of the island is similar to a dumbbell. The
length of the island is 0.82 km, the width 0.24 km, the area 0.2
square km and is 90.9 meters above the sea level. The island is
24.8 sea miles away from Haiyang Fengcheng Port. In Jan., 2002,
the island was approved as the provincial level nature reserve
area.
The annual average temparature of the island is 12.0-12.7¡æ and
the annual average precipitation is 638.6 mm.
There are no residents living here. The island has complete infrastructure
including 1 marine station, 1 international navigation mark beacon
and the houses of 2790 square meters on garrison duty of the navy
and so on.
The island has unique natural traveling resource. The blue sea
and sky and the beautiful natural scenery make the island a perfect
traveling resort.
