Located in the south end of Jiaodong Peninsula, facing the Yellow Sea, Haiyang faces Yantai on the north, connect Weihai on the east and is close to Qingdao on the west. Lying in the central area surrounded by Yantai, Qingdao and Weihai, Haiyang is the important traffic hub. LanYan Railway, QingWei Expressway, YanQing First-grade Highway, YanFeng First-grade Highway, QingShi Highway, RongLan Highway and No.309 Arterial Highway are within the city. There are Yantai Airport, Weihai Airport and Qingdao Airport three airports and Yantai Port, Weihai Port and Qingdao Port three ports within 120 square kilometers. Fengcheng Port, the second state-level opening port and Dabushang commercial port are also within the city. The traffic is convenient. It's only about one-hour drive from Haiyang to Yantai, Weihai and Qingdao. It's takes about one hour frying from Haiyang to Japan or Korea. Now, Haiyang is planning to construct Fengcheng 10,000-ton deepwater wharf and is making efforts to open international shipping.
